The Aerospace, Defense & Marine business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for Quality & Reliability Engineer at the Fairview, North Carolina manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality & Reliability Engineer is the key role for ensuring all quality requirements are achieved. The successful candidate will provide quality leadership and expertise to the multi-functional team supporting production of aerospace and defense products. TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication. Responsibilites o Lead quality improvement projects and support other continuous improvement projects o Lead problem-solving activities using 8D, Shainin and/or Six-sigma methodology o Drive proactive quality initiatives needed to prevent quality problems o Support Supplier Quality and Purchasing organizations to minimize supplier quality issues o Ensure proper control of nonconforming materials and lead MRB activitiesImplement and maintain process quality control o Escalate and report on quality issues and status of action plans o Maintain and improve quality-related documentation and provide coordination of quality-related training for assigned topics o Maintain quality plans for responsible value streams o Plan and conduct process audits and product audits; support customer audits including communication, coordination and responses o Effectively address customer complaints, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer communications o Coordinate changes to products & processes What your background should look like:
o Bachelor of Science in Engineering or science-related field o Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on quality assurance o Self-motivation and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment o Strong problem-solving skills and experience o Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential o Knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical principles o Working knowledge of ISO9001, and preferably AS9100 o Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is highly desired o Experience in the aviation, aerospace & defense industry is a plus o Experience with electro-mechanical testing is desired o Highly desired qualifications include Six-Sigma Black Belt and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Quality AssuranceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
