INTRODUCTION Hickory Nut Gap Farm is Looking for a Full Time Butcher/Meat Cutter.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all aspects of meat cutting Prepares specialty cuts and sub primal meat cuts.
Maintains team policy and operating standards.
Arrives to work on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
Provides excellent customer service Must be honest and reliable Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment Performs other duties as assigned by store leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION Extensive knowledge of meat cuts and cooking techniques Some knowledge of Meat Pasture based farming and how it differs from commercial operations.
Excellent cutting skills with ability to break product down into sub-primal and retail cuts.
Capable of teaching others in a constructive and positive manner.
Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members and customers.
Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.
Passion for Food in General Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 2
Years Of Meat Cutting experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is a physically demanding position.
Days may entail heavy lifting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is located in the Farm Store of Hickory Nut Gap in Fairview, NC.
The incumbent works in a kitchen, freezer and cooler environment.
